This notice explains what personal information Lone Oak Seedlings & Garden Centre ("we", "us") collects through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
Who is responsible for your information

What we collect and why
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your enquiry.
- Technical information: your IP address is used briefly to limit automated spam, and a session cookie is set so the verification code on the form works. Neither is used to identify or track you.
- WhatsApp: if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation happens on WhatsApp's platform under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
- Map: the map on our page is embedded from Google Maps. Loading and using it is subject to Google's privacy policy; we receive nothing from it about you.
The legal basis
We process the information you send us because it is necessary to respond to a request you have made — you choose to contact us, and we use what you provide to reply. We do not use it for any other purpose.
What we don't do
- We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties for marketing.
- We do not send marketing messages unless you have asked for them.
- We do not run analytics or advertising trackers of our own on this website.
- We do not transfer your information outside South Africa, except that email and WhatsApp messages travel over those services' infrastructure as part of ordinary delivery.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up, after which they are deleted in the ordinary course of managing our mailbox. Spam-limiting records are automatically discarded within a day.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and form submissions go directly to our own mail server. We take reasonable, appropriate measures to protect the information you send us.
Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us at any time to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also object to our processing of it. Send any such request to info@loneoak.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you believe we have handled your personal information improperly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this notice and its effective date.
